Creating an XML RSS-feed from an SQLServer DB? RRS feed

  • Question

An outside website needs to have access to one of our databases on a real-time basis via an XML RSS-feed. What would be the best way to accomplish this (using VB on an asp.net site)? Thanks a lot, Jerome

    Hi,

You can create an ASP.Net application to read the data from your database and expose it as an RSS feed.

Or you can also expose stored procedure with in the SQL Server 2005 as a service. In most of the db evironments it is not allowed beacuse of the firewal restrictions.

I will recommend with the ASP.Net application.

Thank you! And I'm definitely going for a .net application. But do you have some examples or links to some examples how to program this?

     Thanks a lot again :)
