Cetre align the Report Header in Matrix Report RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have a report that grows horizontally as it contains a matrix. In the header section of the report, I have items such as Title in text boxes. How can I make this Report header textbox item align in the center if the report grows horizontally, it looks kinda odd with report title not being in the center? Any input will be appreciated.

    Regards,

  • Hi Fazlu,

In this issue, the text boxes which include the report title cannot be dynamically aligned in the center to accommodate the width of the matrix.
To work around the issue, you can remove the “Page Header” and display the report title in the “Report Body”. To do this, we can place the matrix control and the report title element in the same table. We can also repeat the report title on each new page by modifying the “RepeatOnNewPage” property of the table header row. Please refer to the steps below:

    1. Drag a “Table” control to the design surface. Delete the table “Footer” row and the “Detail” row.
    2. Insert a row above the current row, delete the second and the third column.
    3. Drag the “Matrix” control to the second row, and Type the report title in the first row.
    4. Select the handle of the first row, click the “Align Center” symbol in the “Report Formatting” toolbar, and set the “RepeatOnNewPage” to “True” in the “Properties” pane.

If you have any questions, please feel free to let me know.

  • Currently, the only way to do this is to attach HTML and add <div style="align:center"></div> around your header.

Importing HTML into a Report (Report Builder and SSRS)

You can use a text box to insert HTML-formatted text that you have retrieved from a field in your dataset into a report. The text can come from any simple or complex expression that evaluates to correctly formatted HTML. Formatted text can be rendered to all supported output formats, including PDF.

    Text formatted with HTML
