Can we develop a new touch keyboard as a Windows Store app using C#?

    Question

  • Dear All,

I develop an IME and touch keyboard. Can I develop a touch keyboard as a Windows Store app using C# or C++? If we can, how can we set the keyboard on the top of every UI on screen?

Do we have sample code for touch keyboard using C#?

    Thanks,

Thank you very much. I understand that custom touch keyboard is not supported.

I found some keyboards such as TouchPal (http://www.touchpal.com/en/downloads.html#win8) introduced in Windows Store. Were they developed as an On Screen Keyboard using Win32 API in Desktop Mode (Use Vistual Studio 2013 for Desktop)? Is this customization/development for this keyboard type supported on Windows 8.1?

  • That would be a desktop app that happens to look and work as a keyboard.

It is not a replacement as the system input pane.
