Is 4 layered architechture some patern as well ? plz guide RRS feed

  • Hello,

    Please guide in typical 4 layed architechture (having User Interface, Custom Types, Business Logic, Data Access Layer) do we follow some design patern ? I am not clear what patern it is or what patern it should be called.

    Layered Architecture itself is a design pattern.

    With in each layer you can follow specific design patterns depending on your needs, like MVC for presentation, Service Interface as Facade pattern, Data access logic, Data to Business object translation/mapper, Object Relational mapping pattern, state management (Inproc, outproc), caching and so on.
