Exchange server 2003 decommissioning RRS feed

  • we have two 2003 exchange servers in our development environment .We want to decommission one of the server to reduce the cost .Can you please provide some steps that we can use for decommissioning the server

    If you have already introduced any latest version of Exchange servers in your environment then i would recommend you to follow this article

    If you have only these 2  Exchange 2003 servers in your org then ensure that you move all the mailboxes,PF's to the other Exchange 2003 servers if any and delete any SMTP connectors if any created in this server if any of them is created in this server and you can follow the below blog for uninstallation

  • Exchange2003 is not supported anymore. You must move to either 2007/2010/3013 otherwise your single Exchange 2003 will be at risk and there will be no support from Microsoft.
