SQL Server 2014 Upgrade Advisor error message: NO SQL Server instance installed on target computer. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello I just installed SQL 2014 Upgrade Advisor which seems to work on one of my SQL 2008 stand alone machines. But when trying to point to a SQL 2008 cluster machine I get the following error:

NO SQL Server instance installed on target computer.

I am sure I'm putting in the correct instance name which is the default MSSQLSERVER. Anything I'm missing?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Never mind looks like it's working now as it might've been my Remote Sessions after logging out & back in, thanks.
