establishing a RDP connection to Azure VM takes endless RRS feed

  • Question

  • I built up a testlab with 4 VMs in Azure, all with fixed IP addresses. Connecting to these VMs takes endless (10-15 minutes), RDP client showing "securing connection" the whole time.

  • Hello,

Can you please confirm if you are able to RDP after 15 mins to the VM?

If you are able to Login to one VM, can you try to RDP to that other VM's using the private IP of the VM. With this we can check if the issue is with the OS or with the VNET.

    Few other suggestions:

    • This is a basic RDP troubleshooting document, check this once.
    • Check this document for a workaround for this error "securing connection" while trying VM RDP.
    • Check this link and see if RDP port on the IP address is open or not as the IP are static. If this is working NSG rules are working as expected.

More Information on the error message:

    • For higher versions of Windows(win 2008 and above), an automatic updater for un-trusted certificates might be causing the problem, check this document for more information.

Please let me know once you check these and if any of the suggestion resolves your issue.

An old thread found on the similar issue, as this is very old thread the suggestion to reboot may or may not apply now.
