Reading Encrypted Excel File from MS Office 2013 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have an encrypted Excel File from MS Office 2013. As it is encrypted it is binary file, it is Compound File Binary (CFB). But when I am trying to read it as CFB there is no header like it should be: 0xD0, 0xCF, 0x11, 0xE0, 0xA1, 0xB1, 0x1A, 0xE1. The same file is readable by MS Excel 2013. I dont have the same problem with prior versions of office like 2007 or 2010. Any idea how to read it?
I am using C# programming language.

  • Hi MrCaz,

The CFB header should be the same between 2007/2010/2013. Could you please send your sample document so I can see what it is you are encountering?  Please forward to 'dochelp<at>Microsoft<dot>com'
