Suggested API for Service application RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have an existing windows service application that needs some new functionality added.  Basically what I need is to send emails from our applications's queue using the from email's exchange account so that the user has a copy saved in their sent folder.  I need to make sure that the approach I use will:

1: Require a minimum of configuration on the Exchange side
2: Use a technology that will continue to be supported for the foreseeable future
3: Work properly with HTML message formatting
      4: Avoid major security risks

Based on these needs, what API is best to use at this point?  Is EWS going to work, and continue to be supported by Microsoft in future years?

I will be developing this solution using Delphi, so although managed .NET libraries will not work I can easily use web services, COM classes, or core port core windows API's as needed.
