Run Static Driver Verifier for KMDF Driver linked to smclib.lib RRS feed

  • Question

  • Dear Hardware Dev Center,

we would like to get our Smartcard Driver verified so that it can work with Windows 10 with Secure Boot activated. The first step for the verification is running the Static Driver Verifier. The SDV tells us that "SDV only supports drivers which are pure WDM, KMDF and MINIPORTS of type NDIS or STORPORT". This claim is valid since our driver is linked to smclib.lib, which makes SDV stop working.

The driver needs to link to smclib.lib to make Smartcard communication with PCSC under Windows. Currently we believe this is the only way to do so. Do you guys have any further ideas, so that we can still run SDV and get the log file to make the driver verified?

    Best regards, Ming
