Improving 'visual aids' (Francisco) - 9/14/2006 6:00 PM PST RRS feed

The EWD sure is pretty. But unfortunatelly after a while it becomes
difficult to work in the design mode because the pastel colors tend to blend
together. Of particular difficulty is trying to grab and move the little
'hash'marks that control the sizing of the margin & padding. These are
pretty good tools to make minor graphic style adjustments to a page but one
tends to do this after working long hours on the programming, and generally
by the time the eyes are tired.

Does anyone know of any way to modify the coloring of these visual aids?

If not, I suggest to the developers that they create options to increase the
contrast, color or size, or all of the above, for the visual aids.

I have a pocket PC that has a screen size that is a fraction of the size of
my computer monitor but that I can it see it better because the calendar
application that I use allows me to modify the color and size of the
guidelines. Surely, something similar can be done with a full-sized
    application.

    All the best!

You can also set the margin and padding by simply dragging on the edge of
your element...i.e. you're not limited to the handles that extend from each
corner of the element. Just be careful not to drag the resize handle that
appears on the midde right, middle bottom, and lower right corner.
