.Net Version Check ? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hey all I recently in stalled .Net 3.5 full released. In the package there is 2.0 and higher with all of its trimmings. What I was wondering is that how can i check to see if my version is correct and what are the up to date versions for .Net starting with 1.1 and on up to 3.5? Any help would be great and a list of versions to each .Net since it started would be sweeter. Also if you could tell me a few ways to check for the versions. Thanks in advance.

  • I know two ways:
    1.
    use version check utility:
    http://www.tmgdevelopment.co.uk/versioncheck.htm

    2.
    manually:
for .NET 1.1, .NET 2.0, check the version of mscorlib.dll in hard drive
for .NET 3.0, check "Windows Communication Foundation\Infocard.exe" version

Hope you will find out the answer. Have a good day or night. :-)

    Cheers,

  • There is a draft version of .NET Framework setup verification tool available for download here: http://astebner.sts.winisp.net/Tools/netfx_setupverifier_new.zip

It can be used to verify all versions of the .NET Framework (1.0, 1.1, 2.0, 2.0 SP1, 3.0, 3.0 SP1 and 3.5) on any supported OS and processor architecture.

    Thanks.
