Dirty tabs. The "dirt" disappears if I let the mouse pointer move over the tab. Why is this?

Look at the pic below. Dirty tabs. The "dirt" disappears if I let the mouse pointer move over the tab.

If I had to guess I would say problems with your video driver. See if you can get a newer version. You will likely not be able to reproduce this on another machine.

Thanks for helping. You are probably right. But this kind of "dirt" only occurs on screen when I am running an Access App with tabs.

Does it happen with "any" Access app with tabs? If you create a "fresh" one, does it have the same problem?

I try to test with Access 2016 32 bit, Windows 10.

I am not able to reproduce the issue on my side.

Hi DB

I just created a new database and a form with tabs. No "dirt" on the tabs on the new one. On the other hand there is no dirt on the old database either. It never is when i start the old one. The dirt starts to appear after a while and disappears when I hover over the tabs.

I will follow the steps to find a resolution. Already check version of display driver and I have the newest.

Will try to turn hardware acceleration off too. In the meantime please see animated Gif below. Look on tab "Resources"

is this issue only available in this database or it is also available in newly created database?

I know that you had mentioned , when you start any database this effect is not there and it will come after some time.

so the same issue can you reproduce in the new database too?

if not, you can export all the objects from current database to new database.

I tried this:

Created a new database and imported the "old" one. Blurr still there.

I created a new database and exported the form from the old one. The blurr i still there. Even in design mode.

I pressed Ctrl Alt to mark all objects on the form to see if the dirt/blurr came from hidden object. Could not find something hidden.

I changed Visible to No for all tabs, but two, to the right.

That led the dirt to move left :-(

The only thing left to test is your mouse. Maybe it's sending out a signal other than "hover". Try a new mouse.

Hi Bill

I normally use a reglular handheld mouse, connected by usb bluetooh.

Removed it, including the usb.

Now using my touchpad only.

The dirt is still there.

Will try with a cabled mouse later.

Thought of something else...my Outlook lags on my virtual desktop which is a network based VDI. lines of text repeat as I scroll down if there is heavy network traffic.

Is your database local or on a LAN?

I have now a cable mouse. Dirt still here.

Started in Safe mode. Unable to open Accces (nor Word, nor Excel - but VS, Adobe pdf reader and IP Scanner works.
Windows suggested Repair of Office installation. I did after coming back to normal Windows mode. After a Repair I started the database again. Dirt still there.

So I tried screen resolution 100%, 150%(recommended) and 125%. The dirt i still there.

Seeing how this is merely cosmetic, I'd ignore it. You could buy a new graphics card but it doesn't sound as if this issue warrants spending the money.
