How can i create a column to ratings in color pattern? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm suppose to create a column in Sharepoint which shows low/medium/high rating using a color scheme using a grid as seen below.

    I seen this done and i think i this how they did but not sure what formula or how they actually did it to get end result.

    1. Used the grid. probability and impact combined show rating in color (green, yellow, Red) Maybe each number represents a color but, what about number 5. 5 can be green and yellow. What can be done here?

    2. Create a "color" column which has options of Green, yellow and Red.

    3. The results show in "Rating" column, a bar in color.

    How did they do this? How can i create a column to show ratings in color using the grid.

    Please avoid code as I'm not a programmer.

    Thank you so much

  • another idea...

    Using a Data View Web Part:

    Add a new column

    In that column, drop in a text box

    Apply conditional formatting to the text box to change the color depending on a value.

    code example:

    <asp:TextBox runat="server" id="TextBox1{generate-id()}">

    <xsl:attribute name="style">

    <xsl:if test="@ID < '5'">background-color: #0000FF;</xsl:if>

    <xsl:if test="@ID > '5'">background-color: #FF0000;</xsl:if>

    ID < 5 make the field blue
    ID > 5 make the field red

  • This is getting a little complicated so let's make it simple. I want SharePoint to say "Yellow, Blue or Red" based on a scale. <5=yellow <10=blue <15= red I already have column (Rating) which shows the value. Now how do i get SharePoint to say which color each value represents in separate column? Please no code, as I'm not a programmer.
