GitHub xproj clone issues

    Question

  • Hi everyone,

I have a problem with VS2015 and github as my source control system. I setup a project that I and a few friends want to work on. I pushed the solution made up of 2 projects, one for Domain concerns and another with an ASP.NET Core project setup to work with the full .NET Stack. From my system, it pushed everything successfully. But when my friends cloned the project, it returns the error below:

The imported project <c:\Program Files (x86)\MSBuild\Microsoft\VisualStudio\v14.0\DotNet\Microsoft.DotNet.Props> was not found. Confirm the path in the <import> declaration is correct, and the file exists on disk. c:\users\username\source\repos\schoolportal\sampleportal.web\sampleportal.web.xproj

I am at not sure what is going on but please HELP!!! I am not even sure what I ought to be doing now to solve this problem.

    Thanks

  • Hi Joelzang,

According to your description, I reproduce your issue between my Visual Studio Enterprise 2015 with Update 3 and Visual Studio Enterprise 2015 with Update 2. I push the solution from my Visual Studio Enterprise 2015 with Update 3 to GitHub and then clone it from another machine which uses Visual Studio 2015 with Update 3. And I get the same problem.

So please let your friends check his/her Visual Studio 2015 version, whether it installed the same version of update and whether it also installed .NET Core SDK installer and .NET Core installer. Please download and install from below link.

And there also has other communities who has the same problem, please refer to:
