Document set in office 365 SharePoint site RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have created one document set and added that on document library.

When i am clicking on "new->my document set" then NewDocSet.aspx is opening (please see below image).

What i want to ask that is this possible to change NewDocSet.aspx page to my custom page ?

    (please see below image)

On my custom page, i want to add my custom form (j query) where i will have many input controls , date pickers and also some j query functions which will trigger when input control change.

So in short, i want to change NewDocSet.aspx page URL with my page/site page URL.

    Is this possible ?

    Please Help.

  • Hi,

You could try below solution which custom newdocset.aspx by JSOM and jQuery.

Here is one similar thread for your reference.

  • Hi,

    Thanks for your reply.

    The 2 links you gave.

    https://gist.github.com/Oceanswave/e0cd45e2083e51c5026117dc74d65d41

=> Do i need to make structure same ? i mean SharePoint registration links on top.

Can i make a html and upload on any library (i.e. style library / site assets) and then on a site-page/page , will use that html in content editor web part and then URL of that page / Site-Page can be used as customdocset.aspx ?

    And other link

    https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/40a987e0-665e-4af6-9b25-476e4f8ec591/how-to-modifycreate-new-docsetitem-page-in-sharepoint-online?forum=sharepointdevelopment

=> Shows that we cant  be able to modify document set page.

  • Hi,

Html can’t be render correctly based on my test(custom aspx should be fine), and I would suggest you create custom function based on existing framework as it’ll add useful style and other client js object for you.

So you may cost less effort.

The second link means we can’t custom default DocSet page.

  • Hi,

    Thanks for reply.

I am follwing same instruction given on https://gist.github.com/Oceanswave/e0cd45e2083e51c5026117dc74d65d41#file-instructions-md

Firsty i have uploaded customnewdoc.aspx page on style library.

Secondly created a doc library and added a document set content type which i have created.

    But below sentences

"In SPD (for speed, not for distance) set the newdocset page to the uploaded file location, with a querystring param named 'List' to override SP's List= querystring handling. ><"

i am not getting it. please can you guide me.

    Thanks

  • Hi,

The default upload page is system page also, one possible solution is replace/hide the default ribbon/button and create your custom ribbon/button.

Here are some threads would help for your reference.

    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/pnp_articles/add-a-custom-ribbon-to-your-sharepoint-site?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396

    https://sharepoint.stackexchange.com/questions/153881/sharepoint-online-ribbon-customization

If you have any issue for customing upload.aspx, I recommend you to open a new thread for the new issue, then it will help others who have the same question as the original one can solve their problem too.

    Thanks for your understanding.

    Best Regards,

    Lee
