MS Azure field issue to Salesforce for Leads RRS feed

  • Question

  • The issue we’ve encountered is there’s a mismatch on the required fields on both sides for Leads. For Salesforce required fields that are not included in Azure’s web form, there seem to be a solution where we would set up a default value in Salesforce that could later be updated. But unfortunately there does not seem to be a solution for the Country field which is a required field (in TEXT type) on Azure marketplace while it is a PICKLIST on the Salesforce side.

Unfortunately MS Azure doesn’t allow us to modify their web form (to hide the field and change it to a picklist) and the Azure/SF integration operates as a black box so we cannot modify the incoming lead information before it is processed.  Does anyone have any thoughts to resolve this?

  • We have been approved as co-sell ready partner with Microsoft and have published our product offer on Azure marketplace. Prospects browsing Azure marketplace can choose to get more information about the product by filling out a web form, and we want to create sales leads from the Azure marketplace web form to Salesforce.

Salesforce could not create this lead because of the reason listed below. For more information about this error or help with Web-to-Lead, please contact Customer Support.

  • If you look at the form screenshot below, country is in the available fields list in Salesforce and can be added to the selected field list.

Azure marketplace will send the country information and the partner has to choose the country field as well in the below form when the setting up the connection.

The instructions for configuring salesforce is given in the below URL.

Let me know if the issue is more complex and you need further help.
