Emulator network configuration RRS feed

  • Question

  • I used Platform Builder 5.0 to generate a platform for the Emulator. I attached to the device and it starts up. All KITL related connection works as expected. I can ping a host from the Windows CE platform running in the Emulator.

The problem is, that I cannot access the emulated device from outside.

Some information that might be interesting:

        * The emulator is configured with Ethernet support: "Virtual swicth -- Realtek RTL8168/..."
        * The emulated device gets an IP address from the DHCP server.
        * The emulated device responds to an ARP request. The MAC address in this ARP response is identical to the information shown in the "ipconfig /all" on the device. This MAC address is identical in the last two bytes with the hosts MAC address, but differs in the four bytes in front (reasonable).
        * The emulated device does not respond to an ICMP ECHO (ping) request.
        * The host (Windows XP SP3) firewall is disabled.

What must I do to the platform that it accepts incoming connections?

  • Well, that was silly.

I must disable the firewall to allow incoming connection. ;-)
