"DotNetFx35Client\DotNetFx35ClientSetup.exe" is corrupt on MS site RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am having an issue installing a .NET app (Curse Client for PC- http://www.curse.com/client/).  It looks like the program downloads a copy of DotNetFx35Client\DotNetFx35ClientSetup.exe from Microsoft then installs it.  According to the install.log file the file that is being downloaded from MS is corrupt.  I downloaded the file separately from the link in the log and when I try to run it manually I receive a message that the "File is corrupt".

Here is the link to the exe: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=119637

Here is a copy/paste of the log:

The following properties have been set:

I right-clicked on the exe and "unblocked" it, still no dice.

Is there another location I can download this exe from?

    thanks!

  • Hi iain_b,

Base on your description, I think you can try to use the "MSI CLEAN" tool to clean the  "DotNetClient\v3.5".

This forum is dedicated to Windows Forms technology. I'm moving this thread from Base "Windows Forms" to ".Net FrameWork setup" forum, since this issue is related to ".Net FrameWork setup. There are more ".Net FrameWork setup experts in that forum.

Thank you for understanding and supporting.

    Best Regards,

  • Hi iain_b,

    Welcome to MSDN Forum,

According to your description of the problem, the issue you are experiencing is:

    1.       Failed to install an application provide by http://www.curse.com/client/

    2.       The log file show the installation fail to install .NET Framework 3.5

    3.       You cannot install .NET Framework 3.5 Client Profile manually

Since this issue happens during installing  www.curse.com product, I believe that the best answer to this question is to contact www.curse.com: http://www.curse.com/support/ for more efficient responses.

Additionally, if you cannot install .NET Framework 3.5 Client by web installer, you can try the offline install instead.

You can get Microsoft .NET Framework Client Profile Offline Installer at: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=992cffcb-f8ce-41d9-8bd6-31f3e216285c.

Thank you for your understand and support.
