Using custom icon/image for softkey in Windows Mobile 6.5.3. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I am trying to use new functionality in Windows Mobile 6.5.3, to use my own icons in the menubar for softkeys, but the bitmaps are not shown, and I can't find any documentation. I am using the SHCreateMenuBar function with flag  SHCMBF_SOFTKEYICONS and SHCMBF_DISABLEDSOFTKEYICONS. The bitmaps are set with a sequence of resource IDs in the nBmpId member (SHMENUBARINFO struct). The actual bitmaps index is set with the TB_SETBUTTONINFO message.

    - Which resolution should be used for the bitmaps, 48x48 ? or...

    - How many bits per pixel should be used for the bitmaps, 8bbp ?

    - Is it possible to use some predefined bitmaps (standard icons in Windows Mobile 6.5.3) ?

Maybe someone has some example code (or reference) of how to implement custom bitmaps ?

    Thanks in advance !

    Donald

  • if you can see a blank button at the bottom...

i am sure that your bitmap file is in wrong format, but not about your code.

it is strange but you cannot use the bitmap file created in usual way, such as by M$ painter!

the bitmap used should be properly set alpha channel value.
