Update .edmx file with a custom script right after it was modified by "Update Model Wizard" RRS feed

  • Question

  • I need to make a custom script which will be executed on a .edmx file right after it was updated with "Update Model Wizard" tool. This way I could be able to "preserve" the changes I made to the storage model after entity model is updated based on a db schema. How do I do it?

  • Hi Konstantin Tarkus,

    Welcome to MSDN Forum.

I'm afraid we can't do like that, the only thing we can do is executing the script every time after updating the model from database manually.

  • I wouldn't say you can't do it. For example, in VS2010 I performed this task with a custom macros. But in VS2012 macros' are deprecated...
