MS Access 2016 Error: Invalid key field data type! RRS feed

  • Question

  • Ordinarily, when I get an error message and the error handling is disabled,
the system will show me where the error is, so that I can debug it.
However, the above error message does not show me where the error is, and I have
no idea where to debug it.

  • Have you tried stepping through the code? Just curious...

  • Hi Moshe Singer,

please try to post a code so that we can try to check it on our side and try to find the issue.

it is difficult for us to give you a accurate suggestion to solve the issue without checking the code.

are you trying to execute an query from the code?

if yes, then try to check that whether you can able to execute the same query from the user interface or not.

if not, then try t correct your query.

if you are using DAO then make sure you had added the reference for it.

try to check the data of your query are passed correctly as per datatype.

try to use "Compact and Repair" and repair your database.

let us know that whether your issue is solved or not and try to post your code so that we can try to test it.

    Regards

    Deepak
