Check Azure CDN POP location for a specific request RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello Everyone,

I created private Azure (Blob) storage and I'm accessing the Blob files through a CDN endpoint using Auth & SAS. I added a rule on the CDN endpoint that checks if the request is coming from US or not. If the request is not coming from US it shouldn't cache the data and rather initiate a new connection for every request.

Now I wanted to test from which POP is the client getting when making a request outside of US? A way to check the POP's IP/location for that specific request.

    Thanks!

  • Hi ,

If you are using Verizon, then you can take a look at the Via header to check the POP sever that proxied the request.

    Reference: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/cdn/cdn-verizon-http-headers

    Via Request header: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/cdn/cdn-verizon-http-headers#via-request-header
