VBA IDE RRS feed

  • Question

  • In Outlook 2010 and Excel, I make changes to the layout of the VBA IDE and add a tool bar but when I close the program, the changes are not kept. What am I doing wrong?  I tried the same thing in my old Visual Basic 5.0 and it works fine.  Please help.

  • A couple of possibilities:

        1. If you're in a corporate environment it is possible some over-eager sysadmin is either stopping you do this, or overwriting your changes.

        2. You have a single IDE across all applications so if you make changes in Outlook, say, and close the VBE in Outlook, but still have a VBE open in Excel, what you have set in that Excel VBE could overwrite any changes you made in Outlook.
