Blanket suggestion for forum mediators/admins RRS feed

  • Question

  • When you move a thread to another forum, please provide a link to the forum you moved it to. I run into this quite frequently.  A search engine hit leads me to a question someone has posted in the wrong forum, and a mediator/admin moves it to a more appropriate place, but does not provide a link to the question's new home.  It's not always clear where that other forum lives.  Please help your users when you do this.

    Thanks.

  • I never have had this problem when search using MSDN. Probably it is a search engine problem.

You probably meant to make this a discussion instead of a question; I don't know what the question is.

  • When I move a question because it was asked in the wrong forum, I always indicate where it came from. You can tell, if you look, where the thread is now, but there is no way to tell where it came from unless the moderator says in the move comment or in a reply. I don't want the question to be moved back where it came from.
