How does Azure CDN work with other components such as Traffic Manager, API Gateway. RRS feed

  • Question

  • In order to solve problems such as CORS the approach usually is to have 1 point of entry to the system. When researching the CDN in order to deliver our static context we encounted the following question: How does it work with the Gateway / Traffic manager and how do you combine them?

For example, if the Gateway is in 1 region and it redirects to the CDN for some requests, it seems to me that the power of the CDN is lost.

Should I make the CDN the entry point and redirect the dynamic requests to the origin server ( or to the API Gateway? ).

Should I enable some sort of CORS and have 2 backends I'm talking to ? The gateway and the CDN?

  • Are you looking to use Gateway/TM to resolve CORS issues primarily or for other purposes?

You can enable CORS by setting the right CORS related headers. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/cdn/cdn-cors
