How to normalize the body direction? RRS feed

  • Question

  • How to normalize the body direction?  Does anyone know how to normalize the body direction of the data (i.e. joint position) get from kinect? More specifically, given pose A and B, I want to normalize the face direction of A and B so that they are facing the same direction regardless how the user actually stand.

Thanks in advance!  I would appreciate it if you can give me some detailed formulas.

    Best!

  • You can use basic 3D Matrix rotation to rotate body joints.

I think best joints to consider as a reference to detect front facing are shoulderLeft/Center/Right or HipLeft/Center/Right. So you should rotate the skeleton in order to get them on the same depth.
