Apps in Certification Queue- What to Expect RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • Hello all,

If you submitted your app after Friday August 3rd, then it will be restarted in the workflow later today.  This means that you will see a Signing status which may be different from before.  This is expected so no need to file a ticket.

If you submitted your app prior to August 1st and it is still in the Signing stage, then please submit a ticket so that we can investigate and resolve this for you.

    Thank you,

    Jo

  • Hi,

Mine was uploaded on 08/02 and is "In progress Status: Processing certification".

Does this relate to the 'Signing' stage? How long before i should expect it to be published? Thanks!

  • Hi Jo,

I am glad to see new avatar, it's very easy to understand & pretty straight forward with minimum confusion.

I just want to notify that I submitted update for my game on Tuesday 31 July, but still it shows as "STATUS: PROCESSING CERTIFICATION", I am sure that entire process is restarted again after this new changes to development center.

It's 8 days now & It forced me to unpublished my old build since there was some bug in it, which was resulting in negative reviews.

Please look in to it, & help me out.

    Thanks,

Do I need to do anything?

  • I submitted my app on August 3rd and now it is in the STATUS: PROCESSING CERTIFICATION  stage.

    What should i do .

    11 days,can it be longer?

    Monday, August 13, 2012 12:09 AM
  • Yes, mine since 31st of July... at least they don't make a difference between apps, Weerplaza.nl has been the top app for the last two weeks in NL but not receiving any special treatment :-)

Actually it failed last Thursday over using English description in the Polish marketplace, instead of just giving you a warning that you need to take care of it next time. Failing over that is questionable: before adding Polish to the app UI it appeared with the same English description in their Marketplace, and since it is mainly targetted for the Dutch market I only had Polish people who live here in mind.

Since Thursday I'm still waiting for someone to confirm and approve, as all other tests were already performed and validated (didn't touch the .xap). Wonder how many of these rather silly rules can be toned down and what positive impact it could have on the queueing time. Supporting a language in your UI shouldn't automatically require you to localize the description, although it is highly recommendable for your popularity in that country.

    Regards,
    Peter

  • Hello,

I submit an update on August 05 (Sunday) and it's still on 'Processing certification' state.
Is this normal? I have seen today new apps (games) appeared with publish date aug/11.
So, I am worried that my app is stuck.

@DJaus: Did your app pass certification?

  • I also have an app in "Processing Certification"-status while it was submitted on August 4th.

Is there anyone from MSFT who can give us an idea about the timings?

    Thanks,

  • Hello,

I have the same issue. I submit un update of my app on 6 august and the status is "Processing certification".

    What has happened?

  • We have submitted a BETA app 9 days ago and it is still not published (status: signing passed). Since no certification is needed for beta apps, I don't understand why it takes so long!

  • I submitted an update Aug 2, my analytics tell me it was tested Aug 6 and 7, but it is still "processing certification" a week later.  Is something broken?

  • I have an app still in status "Processing Certification" since last monday and I can tell it has already been tested from my analytics too.  Whats the deal?

  • I've also got an app stuck in "Processing Certification".  It was submitted August 1st.  This update fixes a critical issue that was caused by a 3rd-party's change in a data feed, and my app is totally broken until the update gets published.  Anything you can do to help get this through would be much appreciated.

Also, I'm currently unable to dev unlock a new phone - the tool is saying it can't sign in to the App Hub.  Is there an update that will cause it to connect to the new Dev Center?

    Thanks,
    Ben

  • In another thread I was suggesting a month extension of our developer accounts to compensate, but @h2orules this can't even come close to making up for a loss of users and getting a bad reputation!

Hope things turn out for the best for everyone!

  • I submitted several apps with an urgent fix on the 18th July which are still on the 'Processing Certification' stage, nearly a month later!!  I've got users asking me to put the fix in but after about 10 submission tickets I'm still no closer to publishing it.

Could someone from Microsoft comment please, easpecially as you are linking to this thread as part of your update advice?

  • Ditto on what Mobistar said, I submitted on 8/2 and am still in "Processing Certification" and have been for at least a week now and your post does not give guidance as to what those in our situation should do... doubly so when it's now been a week since this thread was started.

  • Just another guy stuck at Status: Processing certification since Aug 1st, 2012 with my app http://www.windowsphone.com/en-US/apps/24dc5e05-3de9-df11-9264-00237de2db9e

Since then I have finished an update, I'd like to cancel the current submission and submit that update for certification.

  • The blog post explains that app publications have been stopped until an issue causing apps to fail to install is resolved.

  • After reading the article mentioned by PDT, I find my app back in the Signing stage, after it has been in Processing Certification for days. It seems they are rolling back the process.

  • I actually submitted on 8/4 (during changeover) but screen shows 8/1/12 and still waiting.  Still shows Processing Certification.  I have submitted several trouble tickets without any action.  Actual email response is that we are overloaded and response may take several business days...

Anybody else in same boat?  I see above that last post was almost a week ago and some were getting results.  If you recently got approved, please provide when you submitted / got approved so we know.

Quite frankly, I am ready to cancel and start over except I don't think you can.

Microsoft, please provide an updated explanation to group on current issues, allow us to resubmit, and give us approximate turnaround times

  • Finally had my approval for a new submission from 2012-08-04. Three betas are still in limbo, strange that they should take longer to move forward ...

Anyhow, glad my new app will be available before the end of the week (fingers crossed...)

  • Hey Fast_Eddie,

My app failed certification because of some issues that I could track. I received a response on last Thursday (8/16). I submitted my app on 8/4. On 8/14 the data was changed to 8/12.

I guess your app will be certified soon.

  • Thanks Jim, Fast_Eddie is now pleased to report that App result was finally received.  I have not received any notification by email but assume if will follow shortly?

To summarize, I submitted on 8/4 during conversion period.  Report shows as being received on 8/8, Cert Failed Notice completed on 8/21.  Really not sure if submitting trouble ticket helped because I never received a response (other than we have received your request, give us 2-5 days to respond).

If anyone interested, although rejected on two counts, relatively minor fixes.  One involves an unhandled error if operating in Airplane mode, and the other is a required disclaimer/notification that I am consuming location data and what I am doing with it etc....  My suggestion to everyone is before submitting, turn on airplane mode and test.  turn on light/dark background and test, turn off/on power (e.g. press top left button) while running, make/receive a call while app is running and test if handled when app resumes.

At the suggestion of another member (perhaps in a different thread), I have added the  Flurry Analytics (simple SDK/Reference similar to Ad control) which seems to be a great tool for anyone interested.  (www.flurry.com). Aside from usage stats by date/location/device, it allows you to track how your app is being used.  (e.g. sessions, length, which forms used, actions taken, crashes etc...).  It is like pubcenter on steroids!  A byproduct is you can tell when Microsoft is actually testing and when results might be available.

    Round 2 here we come!!!

  • My app has been in "Processing Certification" for 3 days and now it is back in "In signing stage".

Does this mean it was rejected?

    What do I do now?

    Thursday, August 23, 2012 3:55 AM
  • I submitted my first app on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 and it's been over a week now but the app still states "Processing Submission"

I submitted my app based on the Nokia First app offer and am in danger of missing out on it while it's still not published.

What is the expected turn around because the Nokia guy noted some apps have been approved within days?

I've submitted a ticket asking for assistance but thought I'd also post here to cover all the bases :D
