Convenient way to create Windows Compact Embedded 7 VHD images for Virtual PC? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I've found the following Blog post, which describes how to build a Windows CE 7 OS image for Virtual PC and how to boot the image:

    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/silverlightforwindowsembedded/archive/2010/07/09/first-image.aspx

Basically they do a network boot, but what I'm really looking for is a way to simply take the nk.bin and inject it into a VHD image (or create a totally new VHD), without doing the whole bootme procedure, which looks tedious to me, both for manual testing and automated builds.

  • Hi,

For platform issue, it is about OEM question, we can't support it on public forum, if you are an OEM developer, I suggest you get help via OEM way.

  • Are you telling me you're not allowed to point me at something like http://code.msdn.microsoft.com/DiskPrep? (Which does basically what I need, except it has no command line interface and runs on Vista/Win7 only).
