WCF Error RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am getting the following error with my WCF project...  Is there anyone who can give me an idea of what the heck this is really saying?

The server was unable to process the request due to an internal error.  For more information about the error, either turn on IncludeExceptionDetailInFaults (either from ServiceBehaviorAttribute or from the <serviceDebug> configuration behavior) on the server in order to send the exception information back to the client, or turn on tracing as per the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 SDK documentation and inspect the server trace logs.

    Server stack trace:

  • @Reed -  IncludeExceptionDetailsInFaults is said to be a server-side setting.  I am getting this error at the client so I don't think this applies.  When added it does not get recognized as anything but an invalid entry.

@AmyPeng - Thanks for the code examples, but they produce errors in my config file, so they are at this point, rather useless.

@Subhendu - Thanks for the tip on SOAP Fault Contract.  When I go to Microsoft's page to try to gain an understanding of the stuff, I get an error that tells me the page cannot be displayed.  When I do a search to find information on it, I get the same thing - page cannot be displayed.

I will once again have to play hunt and peck to resolve this mess.

    Thanks anyway.
