I'm having some trouble installing .NET framework 4. pls helpppppp!!! RRS feed

  • Hi, I'm having some trouble installing .NET framework 4.

    I'm running Windows 7 utimate 64-bit.. I've tried installing with the standalone installer and it also fails and tells me to check the log for further details, clicking the link to the log gives me this:

    The 'S-1-5-18' key may be different on your computer. Please continue to follow the other steps. If it does not work, please inform of us as soon as possible.

  • check if you already have .net framework 4.0, if you have SP1 you should have framework 4.0 too.

  • ok, download fresh installation from here http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=24872

    check in control panel->Programs and features that you don't have .net framework 4.0 

    if yes uninstall it

    run downloaded installation using "run as administrator" option.

  • To start fresh, Please try the following:

    Rmove anything left from previous attempts with this:

    (remove ONLY .NET 4 entries)

    Download the full, standalone, .NET Framework 4.0 installer:

    http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=17718

    Clean out your %temp% directory.

    Disable all AV/anti-malware/firewall software.

    Run the standalone installer from an account with full administrative rights.

    If it fails, collect the install logs with this:

    http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=it&id=12493

    After you run Collect.exe, you'll find vslogs.cab in your %temp% directory. Upload vslogs.cab to a public site, like SkyDrive, then post the link here.

  • i cant find key 87B3BCA8516B6BA47AD0D63F93004BE1 in registry? find in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\S-1-5-18\Components. The 'S-1-5-18.......but,its not here!
