Problem with resx-localization RRS feed

  • Question

  • Suddenly our .NET RESX localization stopped worked on our Win 2008 R2 server. It works locally on our development computers (Win7). Are there any known common problems that we can check?

    We are using for example:

    var cultureInfo = new CultureInfo("en-GB");

    System.Threading.Thread.CurrentThread.CurrentCulture = cultureInfo;

    System.Threading.Thread.CurrentThread.CurrentUICulture = cultureInfo;

    ...and justice for all

    Could you please describe how the localization stops to work for you? If it throws any error message, please share it with us.

    Since we do know exactly what happens to you, my suggestion is to check whether this is caused by the application or it is an environment issue, a command way is to run your application on a third computer, in your case, it is better to run the application both on another client computer and on abother server computer, to see whether it only with client computer.

    And if you work with an ASP.NET web application, do you try to override the InitializeCulture() method of your page class and set both Page.Culture and Page.UICulture to the specific culture as:

    protected override void InitializeCulture()

    {

        base.InitializeCulture();

        Page.Culture = Page.UICulture = "en-GB";

    }

    If not, you could have a try.

    Best Regards,

    Fred.
