USQL - How to create Credentials on a local USQL database for external SQL database access RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm trying to do a CREATE DATA SOURCE in USQL. I have successfully followed CREATE DATA SOURCE (U-SQL) and my script works on Azure.

Now, I want to run the script locally for development, testing and debugging but I am unable to create the credentials using the new PowerShell approach. For the -AccountName part, I have tried various things such as (local), local, localhost and (localhost). Is it possible at all?

In this old days you could use CREATE CREDENTIALS in USQL, but this is deprecated. I need to create the MyCredentials object in (local) for putting on the CREDENTIALS=MyCredentials part of the CREATE DATA SOURCE statement.

How is this done now that CREATE CREDENTIALS is deprecated?

    Thanks in advance.

    Best regards,
