PluralizationServices bug RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

    Not sure if this is the correct place to post but I found a bug in System.Data.Entity.Design.PluralizationServices.

    PluralizationService can not correctly singularise the word 'courses'. Interestingly it works correctly for 'discourses'. I can work around this problem for now. It works for all the other words I am interested in.

            [TestCase("courses", "course")]
            public void PluralizationServiceCorrectlySingularisesPluralWordsOfInterest(
    string input,
    string expectedOutput)
              var pluralService = PluralizationService.CreateService(CultureInfo.GetCultureInfo("en-GB"));
              var singularisedOutput = pluralService.Singularize(input);
              Assert.That(singularisedOutput, Is.EqualTo(expectedOutput));
              // Fails gives 'cours'

    .NET Framework version tried 4.6.1 and 4.7.2. Same error for culture info 'en-US'.

    Thank you.

  • Hi Silkinho,

    Thank you for posting here.

    For your question, what is the TestCase? Do you use UnitTest? Please provide more details, I could test the code to produce the error.

    Best Regards,
