Failure trying to create HDInsight Linked Service RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

    I'm trying to connect my datafactory to an existing HDInsight instance but it keeps adding

                "storageAccountName": null,
                "storageAccountKey": null,

    To my json file when deploying my linked service.

    This then fails saying " The property StorageAccountName is not a valid property for HDInsightBYOCLinkedService. This property has been deprecated. Please use 'LinkedServiceName' property to specify the Azure Storage information.. "

    My LinkedService Json is the following

    { "name": "HDInsightLinkedService", "properties": { "type": "HDInsight", "typeProperties": { "clusterUri": " https://<hdinsightclustername>.azurehdinsight.net/", "userName": "admin", "password": "<password>", "location": "WestUS", "linkedServiceName": "MyHDInsightStoragelinkedService" } } }

    What I get after deployment is

    {
        "name": "HDInsightLinkedService",
        "properties": {
            "hubName": "icvinnypigtest_hub",
            "type": "HDInsight",
            "typeProperties": {
                "clusterUri": " https://<hdinsightclustername>.azurehdinsight.net/",
                "userName": "admin",
                "password": "<password>",
                "storageAccountName": null,
                "storageAccountKey": null,
                "location": "WestUS",
                "linkedServiceName": "PowerShellStorageLinkedService"
            }
        }
    }

    Any ideas how I can provision an HDInsight Linked Service ?

    Thanks

    Vinny

  • You will need to provide the name of the HDINSIGHT cluster that you are connecting to

     "clusterUri": " https://<hdinsightclustername>.azurehdinsight.net/",

    and the username and password to connect to the HDINSIGHT cluster.

                "userName": "admin",
                "password": "<password>",
