Unity Saving Data on Xbox One

    Question

  • So I'm reading

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/uwp/xbox-live/storage-platform/connected-storage/connected-storage-technical-overview

    &

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/uwp/xbox-live/storage-platform/xbox-live-title-storage/xbox-live-title-storage

But I'm a bit confused. How exactly do I save data if JSONs are deprecated? What are these new storage types (Trusted Platform, etc)?

Can I use player prefs to save data on Xbox One? I feel these docs create more questions than they answer or help. I tried going to unity forums but they told me to ask it here. Anyone have experience with this?

  • Are you planning to release your game just for Xbox One and Windows 10 PC?  If so, you can use Connected Storage for save games.  You can use any data file format you like, including JSON.
