Upgrade from Windows 7

    General discussion

  • Looks like if you try to upgrade by installing from the disk while the machine is running under Windows 7, you will save your files (under the file "windows.old") and user information, but you will have to reinstall all your programs. Best to boot from the disk and utilize the "upgrade"!

  • does this mean that by using the boot and upgrade method you kept your programs and did not have to reinstall?
