Smartcard NULL minidriver test fails on latest HLK RRS feed

  • Question

  • Previously when using the old HCK; we could submit a Smartcard NULL minidriver as "Unclassified Device" and it would only do inf testing. This NULL driver basically is an inf file that installs registry entries only to fool smartcard PnP that there is indeed a driver for a specific smartcard (as not all smartcards are PKI cards with a minidriver..r u listening, Microsoft? ;))

From MS: in their DTM Filters it states, under Autotriage; that NULL Driver INF submissions only need to run the DevFund INF Test and Device Driver INF Verification Test.
    Found in this link:

Also, that's how we submitted the previous version of Null Driver.

Anyways, now it seems that now when testing using the latest HLK kit, it insists to use smartcard related tests, which naturally fail:
"Submission Failed. 5 failed test cases ("Smart Card Minidriver Certification Test; x64 only Smart Card Minidriver Certification Test ") and no errata provided."

Before I shell out 500USD for a support incident, anyone have any idea on how to work around this? Thanks!
