    Hi,

I need to run an ios app in iphone retina 7.0 simulator. However, in the VS I don't see any 7.0 options. All I see are 6.1 and 7.1 options for the simulator. But on my Mac host I do not have a 7.1 simulator. How can I run list the 7.0 simulator in VS?

Environment: Win8.1 + VS2013 Update 3 Mac's Config is in the attached screenshot. Xamarin iOS version on Mac: 8.4.0.16 Xamarin iOS version on Win8.1: 8.4.0.0 (this is the latest yet available)

It sounds like the Xcode installation doesn't have the iOS 7.0 simulators installed. See for example: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/18754033/where-can-i-find-ios-7-simulator#25983423.

For further one-on-one troubleshooting help with a business license or higher, the best option is to contact Xamarin support via email (see http://xamarin.com/support for a few more details).

For further one-on-one help during a trial of Xamarin, you can email hello@xamarin.com.

Thanks for the reply. However that is not the case. I can see the iOS 7.0 simulators installed in my OS X, and it is up and running. What I don't see is iOS 7.1 simulators installed in the Mac. However, the DeviceList in VS shows me 7.1 simulators, which is strange. I'm attaching the screenshots of Mac and VS Listing the Simulators.

We are having the exact same issue as AnkitGupta. Please update your documentation with solutions for bugs like this, Xamarin.

Many thanks for the further clarification AnkitGupta! I was able to reproduce the problem when using Xcode 5, and I've filed a corresponding bug report here: https://bugzilla.xamarin.com/show_bug.cgi?id=24509.

To work around the problem, you can either:

    a. Upgrade to Xcode 6.0 or Xcode 6.1 and install the iOS 7.0 simulator.

    or

    b. Downgrade Xamarin for Windows to version 3.5.58 and downgrade Xamarin.iOS on the Mac build host to version 7.4.0.108.
