Project Server 2013: Set baseline ---> Task baselines modified date is acting weird. RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have couple of scenario where Modified Date of Task baselines are same for all the tasks. I never modified the baselines at the same time.

Why this is happening in Project Server 2013. When i tested in Project Server 2010, it doesn't have any problem nor having same modified date for all task baselines.

    Scenario 1:

    1) Login with User1. Set baselines0 and Baseline1 and Publish the project

    2) Now set baseline 2 and save it.(Don't publish it).

Baselines looks like below with User1

    3) Now Login with User2. Set baseline3 and publish the project.

Now all the baselines modified dates got overridden. Why does this happening.?

    Scenario 2:

    1) Login with User1. Set baseline 0 and baseline 1. and publish the project.

    Below are the database values.

    2) Login with User2. Override baseline 0

    2) click yes and then publish the project.

Even in this scenario all the task baselines mod_date got modified to same date and time.

I tried the same scenarios in PS2010. It is working as expected without overriding all the baselines.

Query to get the task baselines

    SELECT [PROJ_UID]
          ,[TB_BASE_NUM]
          ,[CREATED_DATE]
          ,[MOD_DATE]
      FROM [<PWADBNAME>].pub.[MSP_TASK_BASELINES]
      where PROJ_UID='<Project UID>'

Provide your comments on this issue. Does this a bug in Project Server 2013?

  • Hi,

I couldn't test it, but if you can reproduce the issue, I'd suggest to create a ticket with Microsoft so they can confirm the behavior.

    Hope this helps,
