SQL 2012 Configuration Manager RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

I am running Windows 8 with two instances of SQL Server:

    1. SQL2012

    Microsoft SQL Server 2012 (SP1) - 11.0.3000.0 (X64)
     Oct 19 2012 13:38:57
     Copyright (c) Microsoft Corporation
     Developer Edition (64-bit) on Windows NT 6.2 <X64> (Build 9200: )

    2. SQL2008

    Microsoft SQL Server 2008 (SP3) - 10.0.5500.0 (X64)
     Sep 21 2011 22:45:45
     Copyright (c) 1988-2008 Microsoft Corporation
     Enterprise Edition (64-bit) on Windows NT 6.2 <X64> (Build 9200: )

When I run SQL Server Configuration Manager (2008) I cannot see any 2012 services. Also I cannot see a SQL Configuration Manager under 2012 - has this been replaced?

Answers

  • Go to Run

Type sqlservermanager11.msc and then press enter

Now SQL 2012 configuration manager should open and you should be able to see all the services there. If this is not opening then you might not install SQL 2012 configuration manager.

As Zaim said you can't use lower version configuration manager to view higher version service details because newer version service has some more properties which can't be shown in lower version.

  • Zaim, I do not have a 2012 configuration manager.

    Has it been renamed?

I believe I installed all components.
