Don't have and answer for you but experiencing similar issues. I manually connect the agent, but as soon as the build starts the agent is disconnected:

Just to add a quick link to a document that might be helpful in locating the additional log files to check, there is this guide:

    http://developer.xamarin.com/guides/ios/getting_started/installation/windows/xamarin-mac-agent/xma-troubleshooting/

If you end up stuck on this issue even after running through that guide, you can write to contact@xamarin.com (if using the Starter or Trial editions) or "Business & Enterprise Support" for additional help with these initial setup and connection steps. (To save a little back and forth, you can attach the log files mentioned in that troubleshooting guide to your email.)

To everyone having the connection problem or the provisioning files, simulators, etc not getting loaded, the workaround is: 1) Click on the green/yellow/gray monitor for the xamarin mac agent connection config. 2) Right click and Disconnect 3) Wait and try to reconnect again

Sometimes it can take 2-3 tries to get it to work and to get list of simulators loaded

Its painful but the intellisense bug is way more painful than this.

    Thanks

@BrendanZagaeski Hello! I have a student subscription and I've got problems with Designer agent as well. I've sent e-mail to contact@xamarin.com(as you mentioned), but got a reply that I'm not eligible to contact support that way. I've attached Xamarin logs to this post

Got the same problem. For me the solution was: Make sure the same user is logged in into the Mac as the credentials filled in into the Visual Studio MAc Agent credentials

I had previously been pointing to an explicit older version of Xcode, which was later deleted. This caused the error in Visual Studio -- it can be fixed in Xamarin Studio -> Preferences -> Projects -> SDK Locations -> Apple. Pointing it back to the latest Xcode, restarting Xamarin Studio, then disconnecting/reconnecting Visual Studio Agent fixed it for me.

See this bug listing for details. https://bugzilla.xamarin.com/show_bug.cgi?id=44240

This (appears) to be the issue with me, thanks!

I was able to solve this problem by alternating the compilation between debug and release, then it worked again.

    Hi All ,

Just Check where Xcode was installed from mac (Application or download ) .

Verify mac and windows SDK path

    Windows

    Visual Studio ==> Tools ==> Options ==> Xamarin==> Ios(Check xcode path)

    Mac

Xamarin studio ==> preferences ==> Apple ==> verify xcode path

after changing xcode path and restart Visual Studio and xamarin studio .

    re connect device

    Thanks Suthahar.J

If you are using Visual Studio, Please Update Xamarin in both Windows System and Mac System. Also update your XCode in MAC.
