SQL SERVER Error Number: 2 RRS feed

  • Question

  • HI Team

    I am not able to connect SQL server.

    A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server) (.Net SqlClient Data Provider)

    Thank you!

  • This error is connectivity related rather than security. See Solving Connectivity errors to SQL Server.

  • Hi Satya RU,

    Check the detail steps for troubleshoot-connecting-to-the-sql-server-database-engine

    You can also try as next:

    1.Close the firewall;

    2.Open your SSCM and set your domain account to start your engine and browser;

    3. Enable TCP/IP  protocol and set the default port: 1433;

    4.Check  the port of SS Nerwork Configuration is 1433.

    Note:

    If you make some changes of the setting, please remember to restart the engine.

    Best Regards.
