LCDC settings questions RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

    i'm modifying the standard LCDC driver to drive my LCD screen.

    In the datasheet i only have the DE signal timings (cause the driver is driven by DE) but i need the hsync/vsync timings for the device driver ?!?!?!

    How can i do it?

    Thanks !

  • Could you give few details? -

    1. What is "standard LCDC driver"? Where did you retrieve it?

    2. Here are two methods to drive LCD scan -
    1st method utilizes H/V sync signals like CRT;
    2nd method uses single DE signal.
    Usual, LCD supports both.

    Anyway, at the first time, you should check hardware compatibility of LCD module and LCD hardware driver. And then, adjust LCD driver settings according to LCD module requirements.

  • 1. i mean that i'm using the source bsplcdc.c that uses the LCDC_MODE_DESCRIPTOR structure to describe the LCD display. Inside this structure (for each display) I have to declare hsync and vsync timings

    2. the LCD i have uses DE signal: does it means that is not compatible with WinCE ?

  • Oh, do you really suppose that people around can read your thoughts? ;)

    I just guess, that you're working with the some kind of Freescale iMX CPU.

    So, it's simple - clone original BSP, make your own LCDC_MODE_DESCRIPTOR structure, modify wince driver to utilize of DE signal and enjoy it.

    Good luck.
