  • Hi all,

How to save the state of node in Azure Batch (Linux node). For example, I ssh the node, install some programs on it and later on I cannot access it, as it says that my account is expired.

  • Batch is not designed as a service where you manually install applications. If you recreate this machine or scale up or down the batch nodes you will lose all these changes. In line with this, credentials for batch machines are temporary, intended for debugging issues over a short period. If you need to log back in then you need to generate new creds.

Batch machines should really have their applications deployed either as part of the image (using a custom image) or using the batch startup task process.

  • Sam is correct.

Please investigate if a custom image is appropriate for your needs or utilizing: pool.StartTask or JobPreparationTask with either ApplicationPackages or ResourceFiles or both.
