C# Universal App with Sharpdx running on emulator, but not on phone

    Hi!

    I'm trying to write a SharpDX game with universal app, and it's running on emulator, but when I try to run it on my phone (Lumia 830) it throws an exception:

    "A first chance exception of type 'SharpDX.SharpDXException' occurred in SharpDX.DLL"

    and highlights a row in App.g.i.cs:

    #if DEBUG && !DISABLE_XAML_GENERATED_BREAK_ON_UNHANDLED_EXCEPTION
                UnhandledException += (sender, e) =>
                {
                    if (global::System.Diagnostics.Debugger.IsAttached) global::System.Diagnostics.Debugger.Break();

    Any idea why this happening?

    Remove the '*'-s

  • here's what I'd try:

    - when that exception is thrown, inspect the exception "e" (stacktrace, message...)

    - if no stacktrace or message or it is of no help, try to find the source of SharpDX (open source ?) and build it in debug. Then configure visual to intercept that expcetion.
