Fab 40 templates RRS feed

  • Question

  • Where can I download the Fab 40 templates for SharePoint 2010? We had used this extensively in WSS 3.0 and MOSS 2007.

  • They are not available at this time.

However Paul Stork mentions in this post "Although that site template is packaged as a .WSP it is dependent on SharePoint 2007 and won't be directly upgradeable into SharePoint 2010.  Microsoft is working on re-working the "fabulous 40" site templates to provide SharePoint 2010 versions.  At some point in the future there will hopefully be a SharePoint 2010 version of that template which you can use."

  • Thanks Evan!

I hope MS comes out soon with a way to easily port the sites created using Fab 40 templates. I am pretty sure many intranets sites must be using them.

  • Thanks! I will test the templates posted on the sites.

But it is sad that Microsoft is not providing the compatible templates for 2010.

  • Got this solution in place and site set up - all working well except when you register for a course you get a blank email. When you unregister you get no email.
Anyone else had this issue with the TechSol templates and if so did you get them working?
