Navigation Bar Missing in some documents

    Question

  • I am using Visual Studio Community Edition 2015.

Is it possible to turn on the "navigation bar" (that is what I am calling it), on all documents?

Here is a screenshot of two different documents, one has the bar one does not.

  • Michael,

    See this: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1441207/class-name-and-method-name-dropdown-list-is-missing-visual-studio-setting

I have helped. If so, select an answer.

That was not helpful. The actual answer is to add ASHX as an extension in the options found here:

tools > options > text editor and adding ashx as an extention of visual studio c# OR VB

    That answer was here.

  • Hello,

This bar appears only in classes (.vb, .cs, etc). It does not appear in the Files of type (.ashx, aspx, html, etc.)

That is not completely true. It does show up in html and aspx files. But I don't see it in ashx files.
