Coded UI tests not working after Windows Server upgrade to 2012 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I'm automating a desktop application, under Windows Server 2008, for recording my Coded UI tests. Recently we've upgraded Windows server from 2008 to 2012. The problem is that now my tests are not working on this new Windows server version, I have to record again some of the methods, because the locators are different, however, the dev team did not change anything in the app.

I was wondering if there is a way to solve this, without re-implementing the methods. Anyone encountered this issue?

    Thank you!

  • Hi pensacolla,

    Thanks for your post.

Could you please tell me what's the error message you got after running the test in Windows Server 2012.

I have encountered the similar problem before. After changing the OS system. The recorded test can't be playback.

Sometimes when running code ui test it will load some system dlls. After changing the system. Some test can not be ran successfully.

Or the display of desktop in different system is not same. So the recording scripts is different for two OS.

I think re-record the test looks like the best solution for your case

    Best Regards,
