Schema Compare ignore dbo schema RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I was trying to create a series of composite projects for each schema, was trying to use the schema compare to reverse engineer it.  I was wondering if there was a simple way of skipping all the objects that are dbo.OBJECT?  I can turn off the other schema objects quite easily by chaning the update action to skip for schemas I don't want, just not the dbo ones.

Secondly, the 2008 GDR is new to me so this might seem a stupid question to ask, sorry in advance.  If I have a composite project for each schema can I build one of those projects and release it to production without effecting the other schemas?

The reason I ask, we have a reporting services schema, in which it just contains stored procedures looking at tables.  If someone made a change to a reporting services stored procedure I was hoping to just release that schema, that way reducing the risk of someone releasing changes to security/tables ....

    Thanks in advance

    Matt
